Just a quick diy before i go to bed tonight. I bought those burgundy ribbons in a craft store for a dollar today, and figured they could be a great shoe laces upgrade for my old suede ankle boots. I've had them for a long time, so there was a dilemma: i eather donate them to Goodwill or get rid of an ugly thick black shoe laces that they came with and rescue the boots. And i didn't have much hope (i didn't really care for the shoes and wore them maybe once obviously), but it is all about shoe laces after all. Especially when it comes to very simple walk-friendly shoes like i have here. And the other thing is - how you tie them. Wrap the shoe laces around your ankles (i used a long ribbons on purpose) instead of just tying them! And make sure you buy a few different colors of the ribbons, so can change them around depending on your mood and season!
