Fashion Inspiration: Miroslava Duma

I meant to make a post about Miroslava (or Mira how friends like to call her) a while ago, when i was posting about her friend famous Russian designer Vika Gazinskaya (here). Not just because Mira always looks so great, but because of her ability not to take herself too serious and have fun with what she is wearing. Every picture of her that get posted online is a one of a kind. She is actually on of a kind girl with her statement collar necklaces and high platforms! She is the daughter of Russian senator, but made her name herself by working as an editor in Russian Harper's Bazaar and well, just by being fabulous!

Unknown Things

With a scarf wrapped around my neck, still passionately waiting for an actual warm spring weather to come. I love how i get to enjoy weekends off now after i got a new job. I learnt to enjoy every free hour i get, so having a whole day (even a chill windy day like today) for myself is a treat. Today we decided to "explore" unknown places and started with a park that is right across the road from my apartment, and i have never been to.

Wearing: blazer - Diesel, T-shirt and wrap bracelet - borrowed from boyfriend, jeans - Zara, scarf - Ralph Lauren, shoes - Urban Outfitters, tote - Tory Burch, wooden bracelets - bought from a local craftsmen in Belarus, sunglasses - Ray-Ban

Summer Earrings Picks

I only wear earrings during the summer. Everyone keeps saying it is wrong, because shape of my face let me wear and not look odd in pretty much any kind, length and form of them. But the ones i like are always big, chunky, sometimes weirdly shaped, but always a statement pieces. For this coming summer i picked a few bright floral pairs as well as a hight tech hardware inspired earring.

 Leather and metal

There are never too many neon colors

All earrings are from local boutique Dannah

Jean Jacket Comeback: How To Make It Work

I've been spotting more and more of denim jackets lately. I'm a big fan of a good jean jacket, and pretty excited that it is coming back in style. It is a perfect piece for transitional spring-summer period. Not to mention, you can wear it with pretty much anything. And even if you want to throw it on top of an evening gown it might work as well. There are a few tricks though to help make any jean jacket a unique statement outfit piece. First, make sure you roll up the sleeves! Sometimes it is hard when you deal not with chambray, but an actual jean fabric, but it will be easier once the jacket is pretty worn up. And the second, make sure you have a lot of cute brooches and pins to accessorize your jacket. I like to put a few different brooches in a little "nest" all together. It's like layering them - the more the better! In this case no matter how ripped or washed the jacket is, it is still a plain canvas, and you can work your outfit any way you want. I used a few different sets of pin brooches to make a few outfit options.

Perfectly rolled up sleeve is the key to a great fit

That can be a perfect option for the days when you wear your hair up

Fashion Inspiration: Tata Naka

images londonfashionwee.co.uk

These pictures are from Spring-Summer'12 collection by Tata Naka, London based designer duo. Twin sisters Natasha and Tamara Surguladze behind Tata Naka originally are from Georgia (the Georgia that is the country, not the state). they went to St. Martins, and their graduate collection became the beginning of their professional design career and started the brand Tata Naka. The name comes from the girl's childhood nicknames. This year the brand is celebrating their 10th anniversary, and it seems like they've got a lot accomplished. Their collections are unpredictable. They do tribal mixing it with clashing colors and different patterns as much as they do draping and structural design.

Tata Naka making its way into words fashion slowly, but surely. Their talking about upcoming collaboration with an upscale high street brand this year. And what is the better proof of a designer's success than seeing fashion bloggers rocking your clothes on the streets of New York, London and Paris. Miroslava Duma and many more (including myself) are just in love with that rocker color-block coat! Who wouldn't be?!
